…for Project Spectrum.
I know it’s June now, but I had to wait until I had the CD from my mom of pictures we took in New Orleans.

See? It was pink and green!
Plus, then I got this yarn from The Yarn Grove (so awesome – good ol’ Georgia girls, like myself) and it demanded it’s turn in the Project Spectrum spotlight:

But now? I’m ready to make the transition – from greens and yellows to reds and blacks!

Onward!

I haven’t blogged in a week. It’s because I’ve been knitting. You understand, right? There’s been a singular focus on finishing the Top Secret Graduation Gift, and then there was blocking, and seaming, and weaving in. Now my eyes are uncrossed (almost) and my hands are uncurled and it’s done and done and done some more…but I can’t show you pictures yet. I’m sorry. After this weekend, all will be revealed.
In the meantime, I’ll catch all of you readers up on the other WIPs – you know, like a Week in Progress, Work in Progress post. Catchy, eh?
First up, and farthest along, we have the front of Monica:

I gotta say, I don’t do pink, but this? This is cute. Yessiree.
Next is the Dream Swatch Scarf (scroll down on left for pattern):

Then, the revitalized brown sock. Once upon a time, this sock was a Jaywalker, but it tried to strangle me from the feet up, so I decided it needed a gentler pattern in order to corral it’s aggression. Hence, the Woven Stitch from SKS:

And last night I cast on for the Ribs & Lace Tank from the Spring ‘07 IK. Nothing to see here on that front yet. I think it will be my traveling project this weekend….
In closing, Katy would like you all to know that she is glad the Top Secret Graduation Gift is done, so that she can go out and play instead of looking at me like this whilst I knit and kneglect:

Say no to that. I dare you. It’s even in Project Spectrum-y Colors.

Well, the birthday was yesterday, but I couldn’t put up pictures of the Top Secret Birthday Surprise until after I gave it to her, so here’s to extending the birthday an extra day through the blog. So, without further ado…
An in progress shot:

I couldn’t have done it without Lucy (well, perhaps I could have, but it was certainly more fun rescuing the blanket from the jaws of death every once in a while):

Here’s the best picture of the finished product:

A close-up of the pattern detail (the color is more accurate in the above picture, but the blanket and flash were misbehaving for the close-up):

Mom, I hope you like it – I love you!
Pattern: Bunny Hop Baby Blanket
Yarn: Cascade 220 Tweed, Color 601, 2.5 hanks
Needles: Clover Bamboo Circs, Size 8, 29″
Modifications: I only repeated the diamond pattern 5 times.

I have cast on for the Top Secret Graduation Gift.
And, the jaywalking continues – I’m just about to start the heel flap. In theory. Since I’ve never done the sock thing before, it should be an interesting time.

And because it’s nice out, at least for today, I’m going to leave you with a bit of Project Spectrum springy, green-y goodness. Enjoy!

I took these a couple of weeks ago at a 5K race I ran – you know, in March, back when it was Spring.
I love the new green of the budding tree and the deep pink of the flower, and since it’s so grey and dreary out here I thought I’d try a Project Spectrum post to inject a little color.
I hope you enjoy – and that Spring is back soon!
